Functional parts.
No tooling.
On-demand SLS in durable nylon and flexible TPU: prototypes, short runs, and end-use parts at competitive cost and quality. No molds, no minimums, no waiting on tooling. The line runs in production now, with open capacity for your parts.
An SLS line, open to your production.
AMMO runs SLS for engineering teams without a powder-bed line of their own and for ORB Aerospace product development, so the line stays in production and the process is proven on our own parts. Whether you need ten prototypes or a repeat production run, send us the file and we will quote it. Based in West Michigan, shipping anywhere.
Powder in.
Parts out.
A laser sinters nylon powder one thin layer at a time. The surrounding powder supports the part as it builds, so there are no support structures to design around and nothing to cut off after. That is why SLS needs no tooling and handles geometry that would trap a molded or machined part.
- 01
Send your file
A 3D model and quantity. No tooling to build, so the clock starts at the file.
- 02
Sinter
The part builds layer by layer in a heated powder bed, fully supported by the powder around it.
- 03
Clean and finish
Parts are broken out and media-blasted to an even matte surface. Vapor smoothing is available for a sealed, smoother finish.

Ship
Durable, ready-to-use parts, packed and sent. Repeat the run whenever you need more.
Nylon 12
PA / durableThe functional workhorse. Good stiffness and impact strength for enclosures, brackets, housings, and end-use parts that have to hold up.
View material→Nylon 12 Tough
PA / high-impactA higher-toughness nylon for parts that take abuse: snap fits, living-hinge features, and components that flex without cracking.
View material→TPU 90A
Shore 90A / flexibleA rubber-like elastomer for parts that bend, grip, seal, or absorb shock: gaskets, bumpers, grips, and flexible ducting. Not every service bureau runs it, so it is worth asking for.
View material→Media blasting and vapor smoothing available. Part-size limits confirmed on quote.
Functional prototypes
Test-ready parts in the real material, not a stand-in.
Injection-molding alternative
Tens to hundreds of end-use parts without cutting a tool, the answer when a run is too small to pay off a mold.
Jigs and fixtures
Shop-floor tooling, guides, and assembly aids on demand.
Enclosures and housings
Durable nylon cases, brackets, and mounts.
Flexible parts
TPU gaskets, grips, bumpers, and living hinges.
Bridge production
Ship real parts now while injection tooling is still being cut, and keep the design free to change.
Aerospace-grade discipline
Our SLS line is part of an ORB Aerospace manufacturing center, held to the standards of the parts we build for ourselves.
Talk to the shop
Quotes and answers from the people running the machine, not a portal. Every SLS quote answered within 24 hours. Local in West Michigan, shipping anywhere.
Prototype to production
Start with a handful of functional prototypes and scale into repeat production on the same line, with no tooling and no switching vendors in between.
Common questions
- What is SLS 3D printing?
- Selective laser sintering builds parts by fusing nylon or TPU powder one thin layer at a time. The surrounding powder supports the part as it builds, so there are no support structures to design around or remove, and no tooling to cut.
- What materials do you offer?
- Three: Nylon 12 (the durable workhorse), Nylon 12 Tough (high-impact and ductile), and TPU 90A (a flexible, rubber-like elastomer). TPU in particular is a material most local bureaus do not run.
- Do you have order minimums?
- No. Because SLS needs no tooling, there is no minimum order. We print a single functional part or a full production run on the same line.
- How fast will I get a quote?
- Within 24 hours. Send your file and quantity and we will get a quote back to you within one business day.
- What is the lead time?
- It depends on the part, the quantity, and finishing. We confirm the schedule with your quote rather than publishing a number we cannot stand behind for every job.
- What file formats do you accept?
- A 3D model, STEP or STL, is ideal. If a drawing is what you have, send it and we will work from there.
- What finishing is available?
- Parts are media blasted to an even matte finish as standard, and vapor smoothing is available for a sealed, smoother surface. We do not dye parts.
